He barely got any sleep throughout the night, and once the sun was up, he was up out of bed. His wedding day had finally arrived. It had been a long time coming and he had to get through a few bad ones but he finally found her. The girl he was ready to spend the rest of his life with and wanted to be with him as well. As soon as he got to the church he realized it was all real. People were arriving and the small town church was almost to capacity.

He had just finished getting his tie on when there was a knock at the door. It opened and in walked a ghost from his past. Samantha had been his high school love. He had crushed hard on her from afar until Junior year when he finally made a move, and to his surprise she agreed to a date. They were inseparable for those next two years and even into the start of college. But he was at a local university studying history and she was in the big apple learning about fashion. They tried to make it work, he even surprised her with a visit after their first major fight. That was when he saw her, she had moved on. In the time it took him to book a flight and get to New York City she was already getting in bed with someone else. He was heartbroken. That next week he started dating Amy and today she was going to become his wife. But seeing Samantha so much of his life flashed back, all their good days. They were truly in love once, and he could not deny that he still had some of those feelings, after all this time.

She spoke of past mistakes, of missed opportunities. She had visited him, after the break up. Saw him happy and just turned back around. She had caused him heartache and could not ever change that, so she did the only thing she knew how to do, leave. But when she found out about his wedding, she tried to be happy for him, she really did. But she could not shake this feeling that they still had something, they weren’t over yet. She had to tell him that, but seeing him dressed up ready to marry someone else, the words just stopped. She froze, not knowing what to say or do. She hoped he would run away with her and never turn back, but could she really ask him that? After all she had put him through? He looked out the window, cut her off, and began to speak. “….
